The Boston Market Style

With a successful line of restaurants, frozen meals, take-home side dishes and more, Boston Market has become a force to be reckoned with in today’s food industry. Featuring homestyle food at fairly affordable prices, this establishment has quickly climbed near the top of the fast-casual restaurant ladder. For this reason, it is entirely possible to find Boston Market Savings opportunities online, in fliers and even in the stores, themselves.

Headquartered today in the city of Golden, Colorado, the Boston Market company and chain has been active in the industry for many years. The establishment originally began in Newton, Massachusetts, in 1985 as a small restaurant called Boston Chicken that specialized in cooking and serving rotisserie chicken and side dishes.

The name of Boston Chicken changed to Boston Market in 1995, and the establishment’s menu was increased to include such delicacies as turkey, ham, sandwiches, meatloaf and more specialized side dishes including loaded mashed potatoes, green beans, spinach, corn, macaroni and cheese and many other homestyle items.

When it was begun, Boston Chicken was owned by two men named Arthur Cores and Steven Kolow. As the business became increasingly popular in the early 1990s, the company sought to expand beyond its financial means and eventually suffered money issues that caused it to sell all of its interests to the McDonald’s Corporation in May 2000. Today, Boston Market’s brand, restaurants and other endeavors are fully owned and operated by Sun Capital Partners, based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the menu even includes beef brisket, crispy chicken, oven-baked chicken and gravy, fish and more.

The restaurant is the most popular in the United States’ northeastern states, and operates more than 500 restaurants in 28 states throughout the country. Boston Market has even opened locations in Canada and, briefly, Australia in the 2000s. Many items that originated with Boston Chicken, and now are sold at Boston Market, are even found in the grocery store. Frozen meals and side dishes created in the spirit of the Boston Market chain, and made by the H.J. Heinz Company, can be found in major markets all over the country. And, if you want Boston Market to add some flavor to your next gathering, the company also offers catering services in many locations.

As the company has grown over the years, Boston Market has become increasingly involved in charity endeavors. Currently the company is affiliated with the “Give Kids the World” organization, which works to fulfill wishes for children whose lives are threatened by illness and disease. Boston Market is also reportedly dedicated to donating both time and money to a variety of other causes, and has pledged that a portion of the proceeds from its Boston Market Savings book will be donated to charity.
